Aidan Donald
2021 WINNER
Aidan is a student of Industrial Design at Griffith University specialising in custom vehicle and component design and fabrication.
He, like last year’s winner Jasmine Green, is exploring and exploiting emerging and new technologies in 3D design, 3D printing and CNC. Advanced 3D modelling enables the owner’s vision for the car to be developed with the designer and the builder. There’s inevitably a lot of negotiation and compromise to nut out and marry what is envisioned, what new features or tech might be available and what is practical and affordable. A huge advantage for the whole team is that ideas and colours can be “tested” before the grinders spin and welders fire up.
